The Name is Bond, James Bond
Movie: Casino Royale
Starring: Daniel Craig,Eva Green
After a long wait got to see the new bond..oh, yes and the new bond movie..Despite facing vocal opposition for his selection as the latest model for brand 007, Daniel Craig(aka James Bond) was able to pull it off( more or less)..It's takes you a while to get over your homeostasis which doesn't accept the new Bond easily and continues(throught out the movie) drawing comparisons of sorts..Admittingly DC doesnt have the panache that his earlier version PB had but despite this he has a strong case for himself..The Raw look that he has compensates for Flirtatious(Ohh I Lovvvvve Women) looks that Pierce and a scene in which DC is standing infront of a wash room mirror reminded of the Old Spice Cologne Ad .
For a change the bond movie didn't seem to revolve in a circle with bond at the center..The movie takes off with a long awe-inspiring stunt that leaves you mesmerised, good enough to set the tone for the movie and from their you wait and hope for better things but as in life this also doesn't happen often..The movie is nicely prepared and neatly packed but is missing on a few and important spices..
The dialogues are not quite tastefull and Glossy barring a few, so is the case with Gadgets and Stunts..It just might be because the Directors were too busy making the new bond look nice and worth the brand so much that they forgot there are things other than bond that people want to see in the movie.
Overall its a nice movie, worth the time and the ticket cost spent on it.
Fav Quotes:
DC: You are not my type of women
EG: what is it smart
DC: No single..
DC: Why is that people who dont listen to advice, insist on getting it.
( or something of this sort)

Everybody's Free (To Wear Sunscreen)
Do one thing every day that scares you !!! Get to know your parents, you never know when they’ll be gone for good. !!! Understand that friends come and go, but for the precious few you should hold on. !!!
Don’t feel guilty if you don’t know what you want to do with your life. The most interesting people I know didn’t know at 22 what they wanted to do with their lives, some of the most interesting 40 year olds I know still don’t.
These are some

The Ballad of Cable Hogue
Was shortlisting the movie to be watched on my Day of Birth and stopped at TBOCH ( it looks like a slang to me) . It turned out to be a worth watch..
As it turns out to be this is my first attempt to write a structured review ( i also reffered a how to)
I liked the movie spot on from the starting/casting that was done in a nice n clean manner. The movie is based on a Guy's life in a desert and his love for it. I found the name quite intriguing so much as to it took me some time to get the movie and watch under the right circumstances..For the uninitiated the movie gets its name from the protagonist i.e. Cable Hogue
While watching it i was reminded of another movie(maybe quite similar overtly) called Zorba the Greek..
The Character CH is just adorable despite the fact that he's quite stingy and sees no issue in asking a Reverend money for a cuppa water..The closing lines of the movie pretty much sums up the character leaving little to the audience. Jason Roberds's was a wonderful performance and so was David's ( i like his character too)..The landscape chosen was quite nice. I liked the Sound Design of the movie too. The movie was a mix of comedy, very li'l action and butterflying.
The Dialgoues were apt and tastefully written( and seriously funny at times).
Fav Character:CH
Fav Quotes:
Did it ever occur to you, Cable, how wise and bountiful God was to put breasts on a woman? Just the right number in just the right place. Did you ever notice that, Cable?
Citations:
He wasn't really a good man, he wasn't a bad man but Lord he was a man.
He never went to church, he didn't need to, the whole desert was his cathedral.
Hogue loved the desert, loved it deeper then he'd ever say. He built his empire but was man enough to give it up for love when the time came.
Take him Lord...but knowing Cable i suggest you do not take him lightly.

Happiness, where are you?
from the movie HAPPINESS..
It seems the things I've wanted in my life
I've never had
And so it's no surprise that living only leaves me sad
Happiness, where are you?
I've searched so long for you
Happiness, what are you?
I haven't got a clue
Happiness, why do you have to stay...
So far away...
From me?
When I'm in despair and life has turned into a mess
I know I don't dare to end my search for happiness
Happiness, where are you?

tr@inspotting
choose life.
choose a job.
choose a career.
choose a family.
choose a fucking BIG television..........
First saw these statements on a billboard a friend used for his debut directorial venture..and from there i got to know the term trainspotting or train spotting..
A movie in a narrative mode, based on a novel by irvine welsh about a group of heroine addicts and how they go about sustaining this habbit by doing all sorts of crazy stuff..Renton the protagonist is just another teen whose got himself into drugs and courtsey which his life is falling apart...He goes on from being hospitalised, sent to state sponsered de-addiction program, a gal (Dianne) falling for him, shifting base andworking for a hotel and eventually betraying his mates..
Various scenes captured my attention like Renton saying he's felling lonely despite being with his family n mates, Tommy videotaping his sexual experiences with his g/f, renton diving in the pot to search the pills( hideous), renton hallucinating after being brought back from the hospital.
Nice camerawork especially the scene when the guy is running and camera is kept sideways and then its turned the other side when its bypassed.
Fav Char: Renton
My Rating:7.5-7.75
Fav Dialogues: Lots
I chose not to choose life: I chose something else. And the reasons? There are no reasons. Who need reasons when you've got heroin?
The streets are awash with drugs that you can have for unhappiness and pain, and we took them all. Fuck it, we would have injected Vitamin C if only they'd made it illegal.
People think it's all about misery and desperation and death and all that shite, which is not to be ignored, but what they forget is the pleasure of it. Otherwise we wouldn't do it. After all, we're not fucking stupid. At least, we're not that fucking stupid. Take the best orgasm you ever had, multiply it by a thousand and you're still nowhere near it.
The downside of coming off junk was I knew I would need to mix with my friends again in a state of full consciousness. It was awful. They reminded me so much of myself, I could hardly bear to look at them
IMDB Rating - 8.0
A different movie that needs to be seen multiple times to get to its subtleties...

Happiness
It's slightly unusual( or maybe not) name of a movie..Rated at 7.7 on IMDB and tagged as Drama/Comedy...
I'll try to keep the of the movie aside while writting it's review however i'll give some very basic idea of the story n characters to make some sense.
Central Characters:
Joy(i like her name a lot though its quite ironic for her character): Does her part of acting quite nicely, works as a part time teacher and is a wanna be musician.
Bill: Shown as a pervert who has this normal and pleasing personality on the outside so much that even no one in his family has any clues as to what he's going through.(Fine piece of acting)
Allen: Another desperate and frustated soul whose a sex maniac..A couple of his scenes and dialogues are quite gross(Brilliant acting)
I expected this movie to be a nice and light comedy or at most a light movie that'll ask some questions are force you to introspect but nothing of that sort happened, at least for me
The best part of the movie was coverage of a lot of different and socially relevant issues
from pedophilia,Sexual obsession,Lonliness,Breaking marriages
It's End is quite funny though: "I CAME"
It's not the kind of movie that'll make you feel good about the world once you are through it but will bring some new perspective to the problems of the society and just might help you understand and handle them better
Fav Character: Joy
Fav Song: Happiness
Fav Quote:
It's just I'm... I'm so tired of being admired all the time. All these men I mean... they're all beautiful, artistic minds, great sex, the whole package, but hollow, you know what I mean? I feel nobody's really honest with me. Nobody wants me for me
My Rating:7ish

The Weather Man
For the uninitiated it's the name of a movie starring Nicolas Cage which i happened to see today.
The movie is slightly different from other movies yes slightly different..As the name suggests its about a weather man(who does the weather bit of news) and how he struggles (and fails) to fix his broken marriage.
The visuals were good with frozen lakes, snow falls, drizzles and more...I liked the fact that the protagonist used to get hit by junk food for most of the movie. Junk food: Something thats fast, okay on taste and doesn't have any nutritious value
well there's not much that's coming to my mind about the movie despite the fact that i just saw it so i'll take a break now and brb with something else
ciao

Dedicated to Dance
trying to write something funny after scribbling a couple of sad poems..i think its a simple and decent effort for a novice..and people seem to have liked it (seriously i believe)
Some people dance, to impress a friend
Some dance simply coz its a trend.
Some people dance to shred weight
Some dance to help 'em get a date.
Some people dance for the buck in it.
Some people dance for the fun of it.
And why of all do i dance
Hmmm
coz it's like giving my life another chance.

Quote Time
Well apart from things like books, movies (and girls) i like quotes very very much.
A line (or may be a couple) from a movie script or a zipped version of someone's philosophy, a quote can be pretty much anything.
i'll show case some of the quotes that had made a mark (Consciously or otherwise)..

Boyish/Girlish
You Are 60% Boyish and 40% Girlish |
You are pretty evenly split down the middle - a total eunuch. Okay, kidding about the eunuch part. But you do get along with both sexes. You reject traditional gender roles. However, you don't actively fight them. You're just you. You don't try to be what people expect you to be. |

Normal enough to know that you're weird... But too damn weird to do anything about it! |

GodLike Gibran
Khalil Gibran..wow..what a guy he was..heard a lot about him, that he's a great philosopher and an even greater painter but the moment i read his "Prophet" i was awe struck..
Its a beautifully written piece of philosophy, quite a bit of unthought, unheard and unfelt things..
This week i read his sayings(if thats the right word) from the same book..and they were like straight from god to us mortals...from being extremely funny to extremely philosophical in a poetic way..It was tooo good..Made my night and the next day as well.
